My work revolves around the Human Being and the way in which he organises himself into a system, into society. As an Alsatian, I am anxious to explore the institutional crisis that Belgium, my « adopted » country, has experienced.

The notion of a country itself, when we look at it in terms of human beings and their organisation, is interesting. Falling somewhere between freedom and the appropriation of land, between living together and remaining different, what is its true function? What is each person’s role and position within it?

As a surrealist country, should Belgium not be asking itself these questions?
